FAQs

Q.  How can I receive funding?
A.  Funding is open to adult cancer patients (ages 18+) who live in Cuyahoga or Lorain Counties and are in current, active treatment for their cancer.

Q.  Where can I get an application for funding assistance?
A.  You must be registered with a social worker at your medical facility.  All of the social workers have the JOH application and can provide one and help you complete the information.

Q.  How do I submit an application to JOH?
A.  Applications must be submitted to JOH by a licensed social worker (therefore, you must have your social worker help you complete the application and the social worker must send in the application for you).  Applications are only accepted from the 1st through the 15th of each month.  Applications received after the 15th of the month will be returned to the sender for resubmission another month.  This will ensure a smooth process of monthly funding.

Q.  What assistance does JOH provide?
A.  JOH  provides assistance for rent, mortgage or utility bills (gas, water, sewer, electricity, propane).  Approved applicants will receive a one-time aid disbursement.  Applicants may be approved for another grant after one year if in active treatment, but it is not guaranteed.
