- JOH is a non-profit 501c3
tax-exempt organization committed to providing financial assistance to adults
(ages 18+) who are affected by cancer.
- All applications are
evaluated on a non-discriminatory basis.
- Residents of Cuyahoga and Lorain counties are eligible to apply for
funding.
- Funds are limited and based
upon availability and applicant’s needs.
- Type and amount of assistance will be determined on a case-by-case
basis by Journey of Hope’s Review Committee.
- Application submission does
not assure assistance will be granted.
- Approved applicants will receive a one-time aid disbursement. Applicants may be approved for another grant
after one year if in active treatment, but it is not guaranteed.
- Applications will only be accepted from the 1st through the
15th of each month. Any
applications received with a postmark after the 15th will be
returned and may be resubmitted for the next month. This will ensure monthly distribution of
funds.
- Applicants will receive a response by mail within 30 days upon receipt
of the application – provided a complete application has been submitted.
- Incomplete applications will not be reviewed or accepted and will be
returned. An email will be sent to the
submitting social worker to state that it was not accepted.
- If an applicant is rejected, they may re-apply in the next funding
quarter.
- Applicant must submit legible copies
of any applicable statements or invoices.
If requesting housing assistance, applicant must submit a signed
letter by landlord including their name, address and phone number or a
mortgage statement.
